LWVBC is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit membership organization which advocates for positions related to its mission, encourages informed and active participation of citizens in government, and strives to increase understanding of major public policy issues.  Your support goes directly to the League's work to protect and defend our democracy. Together we can ensure our elections are free, fair and accessible, protect our environment, and reduce the influence of money in our elections. Donations support the League's efforts but are not tax deductible.
The Education Fund, a 501(c)(3) corporation, is a nonprofit educational organization that supports LWVBC's voter services and citizen education activities.  You can make a general contribution or send a "tribute" in honor of, in appreciation of or in memory of someone special. Recipients will be notified. Donations to the League of Women Voters of Broward County Educational Fund are fully tax deductible. A COPY OF THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES BY CALLING TOLL-FREE (800-435-7352) WITHIN THE STATE. REGISTRATION DOES NOT IMPLY ENDORSEMENT, APPROVAL, OR RECOMMENDATION BY THE STATE.
The League of Women Voters of Broward mourns the passing of an active member, Margaret McGrath, who passed away in Ushyaia, Argentine on Jan. 27, 2023. Margaret's passion was politics, government and advocacy, and she was a long-time member of the LWV, having first been active in Pittsburgh. She served on the Board of Directors of the Education Fund of LWV-Broward and as Chair of the Legislative Advocacy Committee.Donations will benefit an LWV-Broward project that Margaret would have loved and supported and are tax-deductible.
