Environmental team in action

League members, Sierra Club members and the men who created the film ''Ocklawa: Tales My Father Told Me''
The Art Serve Auditorium was full for a Broward League event Nov. 8, the screening of a documentary 'symphonic poem" about one of the great rivers of Florida. Environmentalists are pushing to remove the Rodman Dam and allow the Ocklawa River to flow freely again. You can learn more about the film and see it streamed online here .https://www.ocklawahatalesmyfathertold.com/
League members tour Coastal Recycling facility
Members of the environment team toured a recycling plant in Pompano Beach to learn more about Broward County's solid-waste crisis. The facility recycles construction debris, a major source of trash that goes into landfills but can be diverted for recycling. Shown here are the workers who sort the trash to find items of value, including ferrous metals, which the worker above drops into the bin at his right. Learn more about reycling on our Environmental Issues page.
