Environmental team sponsor recycling film and discussion
The short film “Reinventing Recycling” was screened to a full house at West Regional Library in Plantation on Feb. 21, followed by a panel discussion with Sunrise Mayor Mike Ryan and Jairo Gonzalez, president of the
Organics Foundation. League member Susan Steinhauser moderated.
The speakers provided a lot of information and encouraged attendees to speak with our city officials to get the Broward County comprehensive solid waste plan approved.
Plantation Mayor Nick Sortal and several Plantation council members attended.
The next film will be "Common Ground" on June 27.
