Celebrating Women’s History Month and our diverse community in Broward County

Allison Meyers | Published on 3/19/2026
Each year in March, we focus on what women have accomplished—a time to honor the remarkable achievements, resilience, and lasting contributions of women everywhere.

Here in Broward County, the League of Women Voters takes pride in reflecting the extraordinary diversity and strength of the community we serve. According to the 2020 U.S. Census, Broward County stands as one of the most diverse counties in the nation. Our residents represent a vibrant tapestry of cultures, languages, backgrounds, and experiences. This diversity is one of our greatest assets—it shapes our perspectives, enriches our conversations, and fortifies our democracy.

During Women’s History Month, we celebrate all our volunteers and Board of Directors of the League of Women Voters, who continue to lead and inspire. Their courage, dedication, and commitment serve as a guiding light for the work we do each day in Broward County.

The League of Women Voters, Broward County, ongoing Mission:

As we head into an election year, together we reaffirm the mission of the League of Women Voters of Broward County: empowering voters and defending democracy. With critical midterm elections approaching—elections that could prove to be among the most consequential in shaping our communities, our rights, and the direction of our nation—our work has never been more important.

Now more than ever, we will continue building a future where every voice counts. By expanding voter education starting in June, protecting access to the ballot, and encouraging civic participation, we ensure that the League of Women Voters of Broward County remains a beacon of inclusion, participation, and progress.

Save the Date! On May 3rd, we celebrate “Hats Off to Women Who Lead” at our annual fundraising event at Jacaranda Country Club. We would love for you to join us. Event registration opening soon.
