We are calling on League members and everyone else to write or call your city elected officials to ask for their support of the Master Plan of the Solid Waste Authority of Broward County. To better manage the more than 5 million tons of waste created in Broward every year, the carefully crafted Master Plan needs to be passed by most of the 28 participating cities. The plan calls for waste reduction, waste reuse, and more effective recycling. These cities have not yet voted. Their commissions are scheduled to vote at the following times and locations:
