OUR MISSION
The LGBTQIA+ Committee works to advance equity, visibility, and civic participation for LGBTQIA+ individuals across Broward County. We focus on ensuring that all people—regardless of identity—have equal access to voting, accurate information, and safe civic engagement. We also work to inform residents about current and proposed legislation that may impact civil rights, including access to healthcare, housing, education, and public life.
This work is essential as LGBTQIA+ communities continue to face barriers that affect both civic participation and everyday wellbeing. Through education, advocacy, and inclusive dialogue, we support the League’s mission to empower voters and defend democracy for all.
OUR FOCUS
The committee focuses on voter education, community engagement, and advocacy at the intersection of LGBTQIA+ issues and democracy. Key initiatives include hosting public forums on voting access and legislative changes, developing educational resources, and collaborating with community partners to expand outreach. As a newly established committee, we are building a sustainable foundation to support informed civic participation and long-term impact in Broward County.
