CALL TO CONVENTION

 

The 40th Biennial State Conventionof the League of Women Voters of Florida will occur June 6 - June 7 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Downtown Orlando, Florida.

 

Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in our Convention Plenary and vote on our2025–2027 Program,2025–2026 budget,2025–2027 LWVFL Board of Directors and Nominating Committee, andsubmitted bylaws amendments.

 

Other Convention activities include a reception and dinner on Saturday night and a variety of breakout sessions and workshops both days hosted by members and supporters of all levels of the League. There will also be opportunities to network with fellow League members, participate in various training sessions, and hear from dynamic speakers.

 

Delegates Counts–Local Leagues shall be entitled to delegate representation in the 40th State Biennial Convention as follows:In addition to one president, a local League shall be entitled to one delegate chosen by members of the local League. Local Leagues with more than 25 voting members, as of January 31, 2025 shall be entitled to one additional delegate for each additional 25 voting League members.

 

After careful consideration, we have decided not to proceed with a hybrid format for our upcoming convention. While we value both in-person and virtual participation, we believe that focusing on a fully in-person experience will allow us to deliver the most engaging and seamless event for all attendees. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you at Convention!

Recommended Program

 

All state League's Board of Directors are tasked with weighing various recommendations from local Leagues and deciding which issues to recommend for a State Program to delegates.

Bylaws Amendments

 

The League of Women Voters of Florida'sbylawsmay be amended at Convention by a two-thirds vote of the delegates.

 

ABylawsCommittee has formally proposed changes to thebylaws, which were subsequently approved and recommended for adoption by the Board of Directors.
