About this event
Join the League of Women Voters of Florida for an insightful and thought-provoking webinar, East Meets West. Our webinar will explore how Eastern and Western perspectives intersect, complement, and sometimes challenge each other in three critical aspects of daily life.
Our panel will feature three distinguished speakers. Dr. Puxiao Cen, a respected Orlando-based cardiologist and 8th-generation physician, will discuss the blending of Western medical practices with traditional Chinese medicine, drawing from her own experience and her father’s hybrid medical education in Hong Kong. Ricky Ly, an engineer by trade and widely-followed food blogger with a passion for Asian cuisine, will share insights into how food and dietary traditions reflect broader cultural values and health practices. Finally, Kam Senai, former Chief Marketing Officer for Xerox North America and a founder of ACT (Asians Coming Together), will offer a compelling look at civic engagement within the AANHPI community—highlighting how voting behaviors, traditions, and expectations can differ from or align with the broader American experience.
Don’t miss this enriching conversation that offers a comparative look at East and West—from the way we heal, to how we nourish our bodies, and how we show up in our communities.
