How to track bills in the Florida House or Senate

Although the official beginning of the 2021 Legislative session is not until March 2, bills have been and are being introduced and committee meetings began the week of January 11. If you want to track specific bills in either the House or Senate, you can sign up for alerts.


Two local bills we're following

Local bills, any bill which relates to a specific geographical area, e.g., county, city, or special taxing district, proposed by the Broward County Legislative Delegation were presented, discussed and passed in two hearings by the Delegation. Read about these specific local bills at:

The LWVBC is especially interested in two local bills. One would create an independent special district to provide and fund senior services throughout Broward County (https://tinyurl.com/Senior-Services-Council). The second, Affordable Housing Improvement Act, would authorize the levy of a discretionary surtax to establish and finance affordable housing (https://tinyurl.com/Affordable-Housing-Act).
