LWVBC is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit membership organization which advocates for positions related to its mission, encourages informed and active participation of citizens in government, and strives to increase understanding of major public policy issues.


Your support goes directly to the League's work to protect and defend our democracy. Together we can ensure our elections are free, fair and accessible, protect our environment, and reduce the influence of money in our elections. We never support or oppose any candidate or political party.

Education Fund


The Education Fund, a 501(c)(3) corporation, is a nonprofit educational organization that supports LWVBC's voter services and citizen education activities.

You can make a general contribution or send a "tribute" in honor of, in appreciation of or in memory of someone special. Recipients will be notified.

Margaret McGrath Leadership Education Program 

 

The League of Women Voters of Broward mourns the passing of an active member, Margaret McGrath, who passed away in Ushyaia, Argentina on Jan. 27, 2023.

 

Margaret's passion was politics, government and advocacy, and she was a long-time member of the LWV, having first been active in Pittsburgh. She served on the Board of Directors of the Education Fund of LWV-Broward and as Chair of the Legislative Advocacy Committee.

 

The purpose of the Margaret McGrath Leadership Education Program is to prepare LWVBC members for "a year of service," where they would agree to take a leadership role in the future to sustain, grow and diversify LWV Broward. Donations will benefit this program and are tax-deductible.
